The Geography Behind Poverty:

From my research and general education through school curriculum and media I have come to the understanding that poverty is having no food or money. It is true that these things are a big part of this epidemic but there is also other ways of being "poor." Poverty can be having no home, no money, no food or drink and other cases no clothes etc. In other words poverty is a low standard of living.

From various research I learnt that the geography behind poverty is quite understanding. I learnt that countries with a higher percentage of poverty are those which are exploited by third world countries for their land or goods. so to get an understanding of this imagine you were born in brazil, your father is a coffee farmer and doesn't get paid fairly by big corporations. you live a low standard of life because your father struggles to support your family. You do not get a sufficient education so you carry on your fathers business, falling into the same trap he suffered, you then have a family of your own and struggle to support them creating an endless cycle of poverty that can only be broken by people who don't even know you exist. Hopefully from this blog I can shed some light on these issues and maybe in the future somebody will make better efforts like big brands who do promote fair trade.
